Modern diesel engine pump injectors can be of different types depending on the operating principle and design. Piezoelectric injectors have a high degree of accuracy in fuel delivery, which contributes to improved efficiency and fuel economy. However, their more complex design can lead to higher repair costs. Electromagnetic (solenoid) injectors are simpler in design, more reliable and less expensive to manufacture. However, their accuracy and speed of operation may be lower compared to piezoelectric injectors and may be less accurate. Diagnosing and repairing diesel injectors can be a complex process due to the high accuracy and sensitivity of these devices. Problems encountered by workshop technicians when repairing diesel injectors are: clogging and wear of injector parts, leakage failure, electrical errors. For diagnostics and repair of diesel piezo injectors, electromagnetic injectors and adjustment of fuel equipment, special stands are used, which allow to check the accuracy of injector operation, fuel atomisation, injector calibration under load, in conditions as close as possible to real ones. Devices for removal of accumulated deposits and restoration of injector performance, testers, diagnostic scanners for reading fault codes and determining injector performance parameters, microscopes, multilayer sensors and other equipment for accurate diagnostics and repair. After the injectors must be properly calibrated and adjusted to ensure optimal performance. Tools are also needed to remove and install the injectors on the engine.
